While I could never afford this amazing custom made dutch door (cost $1990.00),I love the idea of it. I am not a fan of little people making midnight visits to my room. Once I move my babies to a big kid bed we put a gate up in their doorway to keep them in their bedrooms. I like the gate because they can still see out and call to us if they need help, they just can't get out of the room.
The dutch door would work even better. I could simply latch or unlatch the top part of the door as needed, no baby gate to climb through every time I needed to go in our out of the room. I have a very clever friend who made her own dutch door from the one already hanging at her house. They sawed the door in half and then added a little trim and a latch and viola, instant dutch door.
